Gigs so far in 2005...

11/02/05 The Met Lounge, Peterborough + Draw

Our second trip to the Met this year, supporting our good friends from Scotland, Draw. Not a huge audience, but our 35-minute set was warmly received with a new version of 'Live Today' going down particularly well. See you all again soon.

30/01/05 The Met Lounge, Peterborough + Ezio + Opaque + Livewire

Our first trip to the Met this year and what a night! Around 130 people turned out for this charity show in aid of the Tsunami appeal, helping to raise over £700. Cambridge act Ezio kicked the evening off with a brilliant acoustic performance, with sets by Opaque, Livewire and our good selves all warmly received. Thanks to everyone who came along, soundman Graham and Steve J.

23/01/05 Flood’s Tavern, St Ives

Sunday afternoon gigs are proving a big hit at Flood’s and this one went down well too, with ‘Rock Climbing’ and our version of Alanis Morissette’s ‘You Oughta Know’ receiving the loudest cheers. See you all again in the spring.

2004 gigs...

18/12/04 The Man on the Moon, Cambridge + Alighting + Badwell Ash

Our final gig of the year, but what a cracker! A good crowd were packed in for our headline Christmas show, which saw the band on top form. Highlights included a re-worked 'Alright' and a stomping rendition of our favourite, 'Rock Climbing’. Thanks to everyone who came along, especially the RockTech crowd, and our family and friends.

10/12/04 Flood’s Tavern, St Ives

The Flood’s faithful gave us another rapturous reception, amid lots of beer and Christmas cheer! And landlady Sheila Harvey also made it along to see us for the first time. Great to meet you Sheila, and thanks for inviting us back on January 23.

05/12/04 Knut’s Club, The Tara Suite, The Solstice, Peterborough

This up-and-coming cabaret evening saw us sharing the bill with comedians Paul Kerensa and Hazel Humphreys (whose gag about Wurther’s Originals prompted hearty laughter from the siskin table!!!), plus other musical acts, a magician and even a juggler! The audience loved our performance and duly plundered us of all our CDs! Thanks to Steve, John and saleswoman extraordinaire, Jo.

02/12/04 The Merry Monk, Oakham, Rutland

Another great night at one of our favourite pub venues, with Catch and Anyway the stand-out original tracks. Shame we couldn’t have packed a few more in for landlords Jason and Corin Faulkner, but thanks to everyone who did get along. See you again in 2005!

20/11/04 Rockinbeerfest November Bash, Wood Green Lakeside function room, Huntingdon

Unfortunately this fundraising event for next year’s Rockinbeerfest was marred by technical hitches, which meant we only got to play four songs, much to the disappointment of fans who’d made the effort to see us. Cheers to you all - including Mark, George and Brian. Also well done to fellow acts Badwell Ash and Newcastle trio The Restaurant.

28/10/04 The Living Room acoustic night, CB2 Bar/Restaurant, Cambridge

This new acoustic night, re-creating the ambience of someone’s living room, is now one of Cambridge’s ‘must see’ live music events. And it was packed to the rafters again for our headline appearance alongside The Modal Monks, Odette Michell and Stewart Charlesworth. Thanks to Lord Bridge (aka Phil), Alex and Joel. We hope you’ll have us back!

15/10/04 St Edmund's College, Cambridge + Big Strides

Another uni success, with many students (including some from Japan, Mexico and Brazil) becoming new fans. Thanks to Karen and Julia for making us so welcome. Great performance by the Big Strides too. Check ‘em out!

08/10/04 The Progress Bar, Tufnell Park, London

Not our best gig for sound, but the audience seemed to like our songs. Thanks to The Battles of Winter for inviting us down.

02/10/04 Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge

Hotfoot from our first holiday of the year, this Fresher’s Week gig proved one of the very best for organisation and hospitality, and, even though the crowd seemed pre-occupied with making new friends and downing pints, we still enjoyed ourselves. Many thanks to Ben and Phil.

22/09/04 Carling Bar Academy Islington, London + Tigerbombs ……..

The best thing about this gig was the tremendous support from our London fans, who packed the famous venue and cheered every song. Pity we couldn’t have played for longer than our allotted 30 minutes. Fans also travelled from as far as Bristol to hear us play, making it a very special night!

17/09/04 Old Still, Peterborough

We gambled that the heavens wouldn't open to play outside... and somehow got away with it! Thanks to everyone who joined us under the canvas, and also new landlords Brett and Richard, who invited us to play.

28/08/04 The Merry Monk, Oakham, Rutland

Our fifth gig in seven days, but what an enjoyable one! A local beer festival had threatened to put the kybosh on attendance, but as soon as the music started, the pub magically filled... and a crowd also amassed outside to cheer us on. Big thanks to Corin and Jason Faulkner, and everyone who bought a CD or signed our mailing list. Hope to see you all again soon.

27/08/04 Floods Tavern, St Ives

A return visit to the lively St Ives pub, and another very high spirited evening! Thanks to landlady Kelly for inviting us back, and our soundman Alan.

25/08/04 Peterborough Beer Festival + The Che Brewer Band

Despite having to lug our gear through acres of mud, we found sufficient energy to deliver an impressive hour-long set to over 400 people, earning lots of new fans in the process. A headline slot beckons next year perhaps? Thanks to organiser Mike Lane, soundman Pete the hat and all our friends and family who came to support us…. and drink beer too!

22/08/04 Rockinbeerfest, Huntingdon Racecourse + The Stranglers + Dr Feelgood + Wishbone Ash

What an honour to play at the very first Rockinbeerfest. Even better that we were voted by many as one of the best support acts of the three days. And on the back of our performance there and at the Cambridge Corn Exchange a week earlier, we’ve been chosen to take part in an event for UK unsigned bands at the London Astoria next spring with slots at  major festivals (including Glastonbury) up for grabs. Supergrass are said to be headlining the event. More details coming soon on our news page. Massive thanks to Rockinbeerfest organisers Dave and Chris Roberts.

21/08/04 Peterborough City Council Summer on the Square concert, Cathedral Square, Peterborough

Unleashing our music on Peterborough city centre… when Posh were playing at home! It’s fair to say we were a little apprehensive about this gig, but we needn’t have worried. The crowds lapped up our melodic repertoire, performed in the historic Guildhall, and even the resident wasps couldn’t spoil a memorable day. Thanks to Phillip Makepeace and his team. We look forward to entertaining the city again one day.

15/08/04 RockTech 10th anniversary, Cambridge Corn Exchange
Lucky ol' us! We help kids perfect their musical skills at RockTech, the UK's premier rock school, then we get to play a concert with them in front of 500 people at the wonderful Corn Exchange. The kids were brilliant, and we were too, receiving some excellent feedback for our five-song set, ending with our best loved anthem See You. Thanks to Paul, Gill, Martin and everyone at RockTech, and soundmen Andy and John. A big pat on the back, too, for all the kids, including Russ, David, Sam and Jemma.

07/08/04 Fenmuse, Wisbech Park, Wisbech

A hot day, a hot performance! Pity more people didn’t turn out. Perhaps it was just too hot. Still, we enjoyed the chance to play outdoors again, and those who did venture along definitely enjoyed our music. Thanks to organisers Marie and Ian Gray, and soundman Gary.

16/07/04 Leicester University Summer Ball, Carling Live Lounge

Invited along as one of the best up and coming bands in the UK, we were a little disappointed to get the evening underway in front of just a handful of people. However, our tunes soon reached faraway ears, drawing students inside, so by the end we were entertaining a decent crowd. Some of the other bands were not so fortunate, as their sets clashed with headline acts Jools Holland and Girls Aloud on the main stage. All in all a top gig on an excellent stage with good sound, courtesy of Gary and Gaz. Special thanks to Ash James for asking us to play.

09/07/04 The Met Lounge, Peterborough + Street Regal + Homes for America

Filling a slot at short notice, this was arguably our best Met appearance for sound and performance. It was also a perfect opportunity to run through our Leicester University Summer Ball set. Big pat on the back for soundman Graham.

26/06/04 The Rose & Crown, Somersham, Cambs
Our third visit to the only pub in Somersham that stages live music, watched by a very merry Saturday night crowd, including a few familiar faces. Good to see you all again!

25/06/04 Floods Tavern, St Ives, Cambs
One of the best pub gigs we've done! The crowd may have been more used to all covers, but they loved our songs and we responded with a super confident display. Another highlight was Paul's one-off drum solo, specially requested by a musical admirer in the audience! Big thanks to Kelly and Sheila.

17/06/04 St Catz May Ball (St Catharine’s College, Cambridge)

Our 5am set in the smaller marquee was warmly received by an audience who had endured eight hours of alcohol-fuelled entertainment. In fact, some declared we should have been on the main stage much earlier in the evening. We wouldn’t argue with that. Maybe next year! The band survived the night in various ways – some grabbed a couple of hours sleep in their cars, while others kept on going (with the aid of a couple of beers at the Fez Club!) But it was good to know we could perform at such a crazy hour! A big thanks to Tim Jones and Mike Clarke.

13/06/04 Girton College, Cambridge summer party

Playing our songs to over 300 exam weary students, we'll remember this performance mainly because of the wonderful setting - a huge sun-drenched lawn in the college grounds. Audience reaction was laid back to say the least.... must have been the heat! Still, many tapped a foot and listened intently. Thanks to Chris Law and soundman Rob.

05/06/04 March Festival, West End Park, March

Our first outdoor event… and we can’t wait to do more! Headlining Saturday of the festival, the best moment was when the crowd waved lighters in the dark to ‘See You’. Pure magic! Thanks to organiser Rodney, and Stuart and Andy. Also a special thanks to everyone who came to support us, including Eddie and Chris, and the March faithful (aka Jonny boy’s fan club!)

03/06/04 Geneva’s, Peterborough

One of the livelier venues we’ve played! Our three-part set, starting with a semi-acoustic medley of originals, went down well with venue regulars and we wasted no time offloading the CDs we’d brought along. Thanks to Paul and Dave, and also salesman extraordinaire Ed!

27/05/04 The Robin Hood, St Ives

A return visit to the popular St Ives pub and another enthusiastic reception. Thanks to Andi and Jemma, and hope to see new fans Hayley and Michelle at a future gig.

19/05/04 The Lizard, Bedford + The Delphian Complex + 2 supports

We really kicked a** tonight! In fact, the response to our performance was so good, the club immediately offered us one of their prestigious weekend slots. Thanks to Liz Yallop and soundman Ray. And ‘hello’ to new fans Pickle and Justine. See you again soon.

16/05/04 The Music Café, Leicester + Kinago + Rowan

What a great setting for our first headline appearance in Leicester! The Music Café is cosy and intimate with great lighting and a big stage. Although the Sunday evening turn-out was a little disappointing, new fans Lawrie and Ellie assure us they’ll be bringing legions of fellow students from De Montfort Uni next time we play! Big thanks to Thom and Chris for inviting us to perform, and Kinago and Rowan for making it a great evening of music.

14/05/04 Bell Inn, Sawtry

The Bell crowd took a while to decide if they liked us, but by the second set, thumbs were pointing skywards and lots of new friends made (eg Mike and Co. Cheers boys!) Thanks to landlord Steve Burge.

08/05/04 The Met Lounge, Peterborough + Draw + Emery

Another fantastic night at the Met, capped by a brilliant set from headliners Draw. You must check out these guys. Thanks to all our fans who bought tickets, securing us second billing. But please girls, no more knicker throwing at Jon… at least not so they land on his bass when he’s playing! A good set from Emery too.

07/05/04 Huntingdon Boat Club, Huntingdon + Alighting

Returning to the scene of our first ever gig, this proved the perfect warm-up for our show the following evening at Peterborough’s Met Lounge. Thanks to Graham and Alighting.

30/04/04 Hughes Hall College, Cambridge

Although the turn-out could have been higher (due to exams), the scholars of Hughes Hall wasted no time getting into our music, with many insisting we are destined for bigger and better things! Extra special thanks to student president Vicky Burgess.

23/04/04 The Old Still, Peterborough

A farewell gig for landlord John McLaren, who is leaving for pastures new. Luckily it was warm enough to perform outside in the courtyard, and we had a fantastic time belting out originals and covers. Thanks and good luck John. Hope it was a night to remember! Also thanks to our soundman Alan.

17/04/04 Fiddler’s Elbow, Peterborough + The Riptons + Revenue

Our debut at the Fidds and easily the loudest gig we have played! Although primarily known as a heavy rock/metal venue, our stuff seemed to go down well. Thanks to Terry Henning. Also good to meet ‘super fan’ Katie Haydon.

23/03/04 The Met Lounge, Peterborough, + The Mountaineers + Tern

Our first appearance at the Met and our best gig of the year so far, with the Mountaineers and Tern making it a great evening’s entertainment for the 70+ fans who supported us. Thanks to Steve Jason (and Alan for buying a CD!)

18/03/04 University of Surrey Roehampton, London, Digby Campus bar

Student election canvassing meant skipping a full soundcheck, but we managed to get through our set okay and have been invited back! Thanks to Chris O’Boyle.

13/03/04 The Rose & Crown, Somersham, Cambs

Considering how well our acoustic performance went down in November, the turn out was lower than expected. Still, those who ventured along lapped up our set of originals and covers, and we had a great time too. Thanks to Mick & Jane Vilic for inviting us back.

08/03/04 The Man on the Moon pub, Cambridge + One Year On + The Favourite Game

We will always remember this gig for the first performance of ‘A Better Place’, which we reckon is the best song we’ve done to date. Thanks to James Steer, Steve the soundman and the guys from the other bands.

20/02/04 The Sun Inn, Saxilby, near Lincoln

Our set of mostly original songs challenged the crowd, who were more used to rock covers. We persevered and, in the end, won quite a few people over. Thanks to Charles for putting us on the bill.

15/02/04 The Robin Hood Tavern, St Ives, Cambs

An intimate Sunday afternoon gig (our first matinee performance!) It wasn’t a huge crowd, but they gave us a warm welcome and demanded two encores. Thanks to Janine for looking after us.

09/02/04 Christ’s College, Cambridge

We will always remember this gig because of the fantastic crowd, who were into our music from the first song, cheered throughout and made us sign lots of CDs at the end. This gave us a real buzz. Thanks for your support, hope to see you all again soon.

06/02/04 The Old Still, Peterborough

The Old Still always give us an extra special welcome and, returning after our successful gig at Lincoln Uni, this was a chance for us to really let our hair down with family, friends and our growing army of fans in the city.

05/02/04 University of Lincoln, Student Union Bar -The Delph.

Supporting signed band the Mountaineers, our 45-minute set (including new song ‘Thank God’) was well received by a 100-plus audience. We were very impressed by the Mountaineers. Check them out when they appear near you. Big thanks to Maria Lyon, who organised the event and looked after us well.

2003 gigs...

10/12/03 The Boat Race, Cambridge

Our biggest gig to date. It was a shame the original headline act, Adom, had to pull their UK tour early, Still, the shared bill with Hidden Signal and Tony Wood, from Hybrid 3, was a triumph. Our 35 min set of originals went down very well with the crowd, with See You, I Tried and Rock Climbing stealing the most applause. We felt at home on the bigger stage and received heaps of praise, which we are too modest to print. To cap a great night we sold more copies of our EP.

28/11/03 The Old Still, Peterborough

A mix of originals and covers goes down a storm in front of another big audience, with our songs Rock Climbing, Okay I Lost It and Catch particularly well received. Funniest moment of the night is when Michelle has to set up her keyboard outside to play See You, as the pub was so packed!!!

27/11/03 The Cherry Tree, Peterborough

Probably our most successful gig to date, we play to a packed pub. Our new song Rock Climbing – dedicated on the night to friends from Country Walking & Trail magazines – is given a big thumbs up, as is our rock version of Kylie’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’. Top night everyone!

21/11/03 Kirton Leisure Centre, Kirton, Lincolnshire
Another fantastic night! We sell more CDs and make more friends (a quick hi to David from York Uni, as promised!) Magic moment is Catch, which we perform for the first time as a full band.

15/11/03 Warehouse, Studios Near Cambridge, home to Rock Tech

We took part in a live internet broadcast. The unexpected opportunity came while we were rehearsing at the studios. Rock Tech is an organisation aimed at helping kids get into music. The broadcast on, piratetv.net celebrated Rock Tech’s 10th anniversary. We played two songs - Rewind and Catch – to an audience rumoured to include Coldplay and Pink Floyd’s Dave Gilmour. The two – hour programme will appear on archive on piratetv.net.

07/11/03 The Rose & Crown, Somersham, Cambs

Minus drums (Paul’s hobnobbing with Jools Holland!) we play a long semi-acoustic set of originals and covers. We unveil a brand new song – Catch – which gets everyone’s toes tapping. Can’t wait to play it with the full band. Thanks to all the locals, Mick and Jane… and the sk8er boys!

30/10/03 The Cresset Theatre, Peterborough
We perform as part of a charity day of events, celebrating the theatre’s 25th anniversary. Despite not being able to do a soundcheck, we pull off a tight set. Crowd pleasers include Rewind, See You and Live Today.

10/10/03 The Falcon Hotel, Whittlesey
We play two sets to 40 people. It’s fair to say Whittlesey rocked that night!

27/9/03 The Boys Head, Peterborough
Another great night with over 50 turning up. Highlights include new song See You and our instrumental version of Stevie Wonder’s Sir Duke. Definitely made a few more fans tonight! Also, thanks to Alighting.

26/9/03 The Old Still, Peterborough
We get to play after a late cancellation. Our mix of originals and covers goes down well, and we feel we’ve made some new friends. Highlight is our first performance of Live Today.

12/9/03 Huntingdon Boat Club
Our first proper gig, where we perform a full set to around 40 people. We are delighted with our sound and performance. Thanks to everyone, including support acts Frank Hamilton and Alighting, and soundmen, Alan and Nick.

28/8/03 West End Inn, Wisbech
Our first public performance, we play six songs at an open music night. As a result, we’re invited to play Wisbech T in the Park next summer. Thanks to all our family and friends who came to support us. Also big thanks to organiser Gary.
